JOB DESCRIPTION

The SEO Specialist is responsible for overseeing the implementation of a targeted SEO strategy and contributing to all aspects of Voquent's website visibility on SERPs. This includes the planning and management of scheduled SEO relevant tasks as well as the creation, editing and implementation of unique high-quality content. In addition, the position is expected to track the performance of ads campaigns, using relevant analytics tools and report on this weekly to the directors.

BACKGROUND / DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Essential: Digital Marketing Degree or equivalent
  • Essential: Expert level of English
  • Essential: Good writing skills 
  • Essential: Able to quickly learn about and write on a range of subjects
  • Desirable: Previous experience with Email Marketing/Outreach
  • Desirable: Knowledge of SEO

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regular site audits to include page speed, technical fixes, on-page and meta-data analysis
  • Track, report, and analyse website analytics and PPC initiatives and campaigns including but not limited to outreach.
  • Research and implement search engine optimization recommendations, as well as being able to define and quantify upcoming search trends.
  • Optimise site health, copy and landing pages to improve Click-Through Rates and search engine crawls.
  • Manage the sourcing and briefing of content writers and the editing and implementation of content.
  • Work with the development team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code.
  • Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors (eg. e.g. metadata and removal of duplicate data) to improve SEO health and positions for target keywords.
  • Proficient content writing and content management skills, as well as acting as SEO content guardian working with an existing network of content writers.
  • Manage the sourcing and briefing of content writers and the editing and implementation of content.
  • Fact-check long-form content
  • Will report directly to the Board of Directors

DUTIES

  • Active use of SEO optimisation tools
  • Using Voquent’s core suite applications for the fulfilment of duties including but not limited to MS Office suite etc.
  • Coordinating and executing SEO tasks and tracking and reporting progress on the project management system.
  • Creating and compiling in-house evergreen and short-form text and image content.
  • Preparing copywriter briefs and templates and negotiating rates with third party writers, bloggers, sites etc.
  • Quality checking, editing, and implementing sourced material for readability, keyword use, fact checks, validated links, call to action etc.
  • Overseeing and liaising with outsourced partners for PPC, outreach, PR and other digital marketing focussed campaigns (e.g. tie in campaigns with company Social Media, Podcasts etc).
